Space Shuttle Nose Gear Tire - Flown on TWO Missions - Atlantis and Columbia!

Description

This is a beautifully designed 2 1/4" x 3 3/8" card with color images of the mission patches for flights STS-27 and 28. Attached to the card is an authentic piece of the nose gear tire used on BOTH missions. This tire fragment flew on Atlantis as part of STS-27. It also flew on Columbia as part of STS-28, thereby becoming the first nose gear tire to fly on TWO missions.
The tire fragment on this card measures about 1/4" x 1/2".
This piece of nose gear tire spent a total of nine days, 10 hours, 5 minutes and 45 seconds in space, traveling a total of 3,912,075 miles orbiting the earth.
